(CNN)Joe Biden, who was running for president at the time, made it abundantly apparent that he had had it with Saudi Arabia in 2019. Biden vowed to make Saudi Arabia “pay the price, and make them in fact the pariah that they are,” saying there is “very little social redeeming value in the present government in Saudi Arabia.” He was outraged over Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s (MBS) alleged role in the murder of Washington Post columnist and US resident Jamal Khashoggi.
Unfortunately, a large portion of the world does not appear to concur with Biden and the human rights community.
The rehabilitation of MBS has been going strong ever since Khashoggi was killed and dismembered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018.
A CIA report stating that MBS ordered the murder was made public by the Biden administration.
